Finding luxury, good quality ornaments and a wide variety to suit all themes can be challenging. In this round up we show detailed images and highlights for Christmas shopping for all. Because after all, once you’ve invested in the worlds most beautiful Christmas snowflake you’re going to need an equally stunning Christmas tree to match!
I give my honest reviews on stores featuring Christmas ornaments and nothing you see on this page is sponsored or paid promotion, i just know shopping for Christmas decor is one of the most enjoyable parts of the holiday season and want to help you out…
1. Heirloom decorations
It’s no surprise i think all good Christmas tree designs start with the most important decorations of all – the Heirlooms. Personalised crystal snowflake decorations hand engraved by Calligraphy en Vogue are a Christmas must have to capture the magic of Christmas and create a tradition around your tree, record your memory and share the story with your family for generations to come. I love that between the champagne and crystal colour they literally go with any Christmas theming year in, year out.

2. David Jones
A firm favourite and probably one of the most well known stores for a more luxury feel and better quality ornaments. I like the fact they are well organised and break up the ornaments into themes/ colour groups. While the quality and price is overall quite good i find their ornaments very much lack size variety and tend to be the same decorations repeated year in year out, while nice they do feel very much like the same ornaments every year. I’ve posted some images for you below.
I also think their Christmas trees are good quality for the price tag. Certainly not the cheapest tree but for the cost of some other luxury stores they do sell a great tree.

3. Swarovski
Always a beautiful, classic choice, Swarovski have a beautiful selection of crystal ornaments that will add something magical to your tree. While a beautiful choice for your tree my 2 biggest complaints would be the tiny size compared to the expensive price tag and the inability to personalise any of the ornaments. However they certainly do little Christmas characters so wonderfully.

4. The Christmas Market
One of my all time favourite stores and probably some of the nicest ornaments on the market at a really affordable price for quality, high end decorations. From cute themes, glass, clothing, decor and everything in between not only a great online option but supporting a small Aussie business. I promise you’ll find something you’ll love. The only downside would be not being able to see the decorations in person unless you live near Wollongong, but i think they do a great job of their instagram so you can really see how beautiful everything looks in person!

5. Koch and Co
I was truely surprised to see the range of Christmas stuff Koch and Co had this year! They’ve really stepped up their game and while i still think some decorations are probably better than others, they did certainly have some lovely decorations, some nice glass baubles and i particularly liked the standing reindeer decor as well. I’d recommend going in store rather than shopping online as it can be quite difficult to tell the quality online. Also priced really reasonably.

6. Big W
I have to say i’m more shocked than anyone to even see this on the list and while i certainly wouldn’t say they are known for their quality ornaments, i was pleasantly surprised to see they do have some neutral pieces that work well for fillers that would blend in seamlessly with more costly investment piece decorations especially for larger trees or internal.
I would steer clear of the trees as they don’t look like very good quality in real life and definitely head in store to vet the quality of the decor before purchasing.
Verdict is good filler pieces or for a second tree for the kids if you don’t want them touching expensive ornaments.

7. Balsam Hill
Known for some of the best quality Christmas trees on the market, Balsam Hill trees are definitely a sight to be seen, however they are most certainly an investment piece with a price tag to match. They also have beautiful ornaments, especially their curated collections. The biggest downside is the lack of store front to view the trees or ornaments before purchasing. Although they do have a 14 day return period for change of mind.
Definitely a worthy purchase for a Christmas lover and HOT TIP – they do a great Christmas in July sale if you can wait until then….

8. Merry & Bright
I love this curated site of Christmas decorations – while there isn’t a huge variety i think the owner has done really well to choose pretty, timeless pieces that will match a lot of different tree styles. Again i’m a big fan of shopping small, especially on Christmas so i think first stop should always been boutique Christmas sites.

I hope you love our favourite Christmas round up and most importantly, don’t miss your chance to secure your very own personalised heirloom ornaments for 2022 – we sell out every year!
